Oakhurst Overnight Stay

This post is from about 2012.

Its been many years since we were in Oakhurst.

After a lifetime here in the valley and never having seen Yosemite, I thought I would finally get to go see it.  I found an amazing deal on a Chateau at the Pines Resort at Bass Lake. for $89!

The inside of our chalet was nice, not spotless, but acceptable.  The area we had to be in was spacious, with a full kitchen also there was a modern tv with cable access.   There was a balcony to sit on with chairs and a table.  It was raining most of the time we were there.

It was January and there was almost no snow.   It snowed on a nearby mountain while we were there but we got none!  My daughter was praying for snow because she so badly wanted to make a snowman.  In the morning, on the ground outside our chateau was just enough snow for her to make a mini snow man!

We went to the Oakhurst Children’s Museum.  We had a lot of fun there with my daughter.  The entry fee is $6 per person.  Here are a few photos of what we saw and did there:   Click below to see more pics.

There was a lovely park for the kids to play in.

The lake was very low at this time because they were working on the dam.

This is the Pines resort hotel.  It’s more expensive than a chateau.

We found a lot of things to do in Oakhurst.  We never made it to Yosemite because our car broke down and we had to have it repaired.  We found some amazing guys who stayed overtime to help us get back on the road and we still were able to have a nice time.
