While at the Fiesta celebration earlier this month, I had the opportunity to speak briefly with the Community Life Garden’s Executive Director, David Gonzalez. He is a warm kind individual whose exuberance for what he does embodies the image of community. I am an advocate of anything that brings people together in a helpful way and I believe that this garden is an amazing undertaking in which we all should be involved to some degree. Whether as a helper, consumer or grower, there are things we can do to partake in this project. Here is an overview:
This week end, they are holding a volunteer day. Even if you are not a member, you can volunteer to help. There are many different jobs you can do and what a fabulous way to spend a weekend with the kids, teaching them how to grow food.
