Avila Valley Barn is located on Avila Beach Road and is right off of Hwy. 1 south of San Luis Obispo, CA. This is free to walk through, but if you want to feed the animals, it’s only $1.00 a bag and it’s really fun for the kids! They have
goats, chickens, emus, horses, and a cow. They also give hay rides around the farm for a small fee.
There is an open air barn with fruits and veggies.
They also have an extensive gourmet foods store…
This year we were there at Thanksgiving and people were lined up to get the sold out pies they had ordered ahead of time. I heard they were sooooo delicious that people would gladly wait to get theirs!
There is also a sweets shop with salt water taffy and homemade ice cream and fudge!
A very happy customer.
Another favorite is the grilled corn on the cob.
Just before you get to the Avila Valley Barn you will see a sign for the Avila Hot Springs. We’ve never stopped there personally, but I hear it’s a great place to go with the kids, and it looks like lots of fun!
